New Lego Ninjago Sets For 2012 - Release Dates, Prices, Pictures

Lego Ninjago first hit the shops in 2011. This range of toys met with instant success and was a massive hit for Lego. The range of toys are more than just models, they are games and also have a running story. You can trade Ninjago cards, exchange spinners and battle the characters in custom built arenas. Due to the success of the range, Lego are bringing out a whole host of new toys in 2012. There will be new figures, new spinners and new sets. On this page we are going to look at six brand new Ninjago toys.

The big news for Ninjago is the introduction of a new line of characters. In the 2011 range the bad guys were evil skeletons, now though we have a selection of snake people. The first new set is going to be the Venomari Shrine. This has the item number 9440 and will have 86 pieces. This is the smallest of the new sets and is expected to cost around the $10 mark. The set will include an updated version of Zane and it has a sort of snake cannon that can fire at invading Lego men. This is due for release on January the 1^st and will be available in shops from then onwards, you can also buy them online for a decent price.

The second set we are looking at is Kai’s Blade Cycle. This has the item number 9441 and is going to have around 190 pieces. Expected to cost around $15 this new set for 2012 will have the minifigures Kai and the new Rattla snake man. This set is basically a red and gold motorcycle that you build up your self. The toy has a few nice moving pieces and really does look good. The Ninjago range has already had quite a few vehicles and these have been big sellers for the company so it’s no real surprise that they are releasing another of these toys.

Next up we have two aerial vehicles. First is Jay’s Storm Fighter, this has the item number 9442 and contains 242 pieces. This is a blue space craft sort of toy and will contain the minifigures Jay and Snappa who is another of the new snake people. This set also contains a mini snake shrine. The aircraft itself has wings that fold out and give it quite a nice look. This set is expect to be priced at around $25 although that is subject to change. Jay has been a very popular character in the Ninjago line and so again it’s no surprise that Lego have brought out a new set based around him.

Another one that looks like a really nice new Ninjago toys is the Rattle Copter. This is basically a snake like helicopter. At first glance it really does look impressive and Lego have obviously put a lot of work into designing this one. The Rattle Copter has the item number 9443 and the set will contain 327 pieces. This one will cost around $30 and will have three minifigures, namely Kai, Feng-Suei and Lloyd. The copter has a few moving parts such as the cockpit which swings open. This is looking like a really nice new set for 2012 and so no doubt it will be another really popular seller.

The two biggest sets of Ninjago new for 2012 are the last ones we are going to look at. The Fangpyre Truck Ambush is a wonderful looking vehicle. Another one that is made to look like a serpent this toy really does look slick. This one has item number 9445 and will be priced at around $50. Fangpyre Truck Ambush will have four minifigures and these will be jay, Zane, Fangdam and Fangtom. You will be able to build up the large snake truck and there will also be a small scooter for Zane. Of all the sets this one looks like it is going to be the most stylish and so no doubt will be one that children really want to get their hands on.

Finally we are going to look at Destiny’s Bounty. This is to be the largest new Ninjago set for 2012. Destiny’s Bounty has the item number 9446 and will contain six minifigures. These will be Kendo Jay, Kendo Zane, Lord Garmadon, Sensei Wu, Skales and Slithera. So that gives us two new snake people as well as some of the characters we are all ready familiar with. The main feature of this set is the large boat which is the new home of the snake people, this is a nice looking ship and one that will take a fair bit of building. This one is to be priced somewhere in the region of $80 so as you can see it is quite a large set. If you shop around and buy online you can pick up some decent discounts on these.

As well as the six new Ninjago sets for 2012 there are also going to be quite a few new spinners and booster packs. Lego are even going to be bringing out a sticker book based on Ninjago. So as you can see it looks as if this line of toys is going to go from strength to strength in the coming months and years. Lego really have come up with an excellent set of toys here and they will no doubt continue to release more and more of these until they come up with a totally new range.
